Helping Your Baby Find Comfort and Ease

Frequent crying, fussiness, or trouble settling after feeds can leave parents feeling worried and exhausted. Many babies experience colic, gas, reflux, or digestive discomfort in the early months, often related to tension in the body, an immature digestive system, or difficulty coordinating the muscles needed for feeding and bowel movements. At Mighty Roots Therapy, we provide gentle, baby-led care designed to support both your baby and your family, helping ease discomfort, support healthy digestion, and bring more calm and comfort to your baby’s body.

It’s normal for babies to have fussy periods, but persistent crying or discomfort may signal underlying tension. When there is tension or restrictions in the body, it can affect how air, milk, and stool move through the body.

What infant occupational and physical therapy for digestion?

We use gentle, hands-on techniques including cranial-sacral therapy, to calm the nervous system and support healthy movement patterns. Sessions are always guided by your baby’s comfort, with no forcing, no pressure, and parents closely involved every step of the way.

Infant therapy can help relieve gas, reflux, and digestive discomfort, improve bowel regularity and ease of pooping, reduce abdominal tension, and support coordination of the diaphragm, core, and pelvic floor. It also helps your baby feel more comfortable during feeding, tummy time, and sleep, while promoting relaxation and connection for both baby and parent.

We’ll also guide you through simple home strategies and positioning techniques so you can continue supporting your baby’s comfort and development between visits.
