Every child deserves to feel confident, comfortable, and safe in their own body.

At Mighty Roots Therapy, we work with children who are struggling with bowel, bladder, feeding, and toileting challenges. We take the time to figure out what's actually going on — and then we help fix it. We believe every child is resilient and deserves the right support to grow, thrive, and just be a kid

Formerly known as OWN Pediatric Therapy, we rebranded to Mighty Roots Therapy to better reflect the depth of our approach and the heart behind our work. We are the same trusted team, same dedicated care, just a new name that finally says it all.

  • Founded for families who've been through it or who simply want more thoughtful care from the start. Mighty Roots was built by Annie Close, pediatric OT and mom of three, for parents who have often already tried everything. Who've been told to wait it out, given temporary fixes, or felt dismissed by a system that didn't have answers. And for families who haven't been through all of that, but know their child deserves a provider who will actually listen and look at the whole picture. We're here because every family deserves better.

  • Built entirely around kids. Our clinic is dedicated 100% to children — not as a specialty within a broader practice, but as our entire purpose. Every technique, every space, and every session is designed for how children actually grow, feel, and develop. We pride ourselves on making therapy fun — because a child's primary occupation is play. So why shouldn't therapy be something they're actually excited to come back to?

  • Rooted in the why. We don't just treat what we can see. We look deeper — at the nervous system, sensory processing, movement, development, and daily life — to find what's actually driving your child's challenges and build a plan that creates real, lasting change.

  • Our mission is simple: help every child build mighty roots — so they can grow, thrive, and just be a kid.

A note from our founder:

Dear Mighty Roots Families,

Five years ago, I sat across from yet another parent who was exhausted.

Not just tired. Exhausted in that specific way that only comes from fighting for your child for months, sometimes years, and still not having real answers. They'd seen the pediatrician. They'd tried the recommendations. They'd waited to see if their child would "grow out of it." And here they were, still stuck, still searching, still wondering if somehow this was their fault.

I knew that feeling. Not just as a therapist. As a mom.

My middle son has struggled with constipation since the day he was born. And I'll tell you something nobody really talks about: when your child is suffering with something like that, day after day, it doesn't just affect them. It affects your whole family. Mealtimes, bedtimes, school mornings, social situations. It quietly reshapes everything. And in the quiet moments, it has a way of making you feel like you did something wrong. Like you missed something. Like somehow, this is on you.

It isn't. But I understand why it feels that way.

That's part of why I started Mighty Roots, perviously known as OWN Pediatric Therapy.

I had spent years working as a pediatric occupational therapist, watching families come in carrying that same exhausted, defeated look. Parents who had been dismissed, given bandaid fixes, or told to just keep waiting. And I kept thinking we can do so much better than this. These families deserve real answers. Real support. Someone who will actually dig into the why and stay with them until things genuinely change.

I also saw a gap that nobody was filling.

Pelvic health and feeding challenges in children are not rare. They are not minor. They are the kinds of things that affect how a family functions every single day. The accidents at school, the mealtime battles, the bedwetting, the constipation that has your child in tears. These are real, hard, exhausting challenges. And yet families were struggling to find anyone with the right training, the right focus, or the right answers.

So I built the practice I wished had existed for my own family.

A place dedicated entirely to children. Not a general clinic that also sees kids. A space where every technique, every approach, and every session is designed specifically for how children's bodies and nervous systems actually work. A place where parents aren't handed a pamphlet and sent home. Where we sit with you, dig deep, and work together until we find what's actually driving things. Not just what's easiest to treat.

I won't promise it's always a quick road. Real, lasting change rarely is. But I will promise that we will show up for your child and your family the way I wished someone had shown up for mine.

Because every kid deserves to feel comfortable, confident, and free in their own body. They deserve Mighty Roots.

With love,

Annie Close,
